Genet

Eighteen years ago, Genet faced the devastating loss of her partner and discovered her HIV status. Despite her struggles, she is now thriving as a mother to three children: an 11-year-old daughter and 6-year-old twins. All her children are HIV-negative.

Before the program, Genet barely survived doing odd jobs. With the training, she now runs a successful injera business, baking with an electric oven. She dreams of expanding her business to include selling spices, a highly in-demand product in her community.

Genet credits the program for teaching her about nutrition, hygiene, and money management. She now saves 50 birr monthly through a group sharing program and ensures her family eats healthy, nourishing meals. Her children are happier, and her home is filled with laughter and hope.

With a CD4 count of 550, Genet continues to take her medications and live a healthy life. She shared that the program restored her hope and gave her the tools to create a better future
